A life based on faith, friendships, and a passion for the outdoors…
Chance
My passion for the outdoors began at a very young age. Before I could even walk, my dad would take me along with him hunting, fishing, and trapping the various different species of Port Clinton, Ohio. Hunting wasn’t just a hobby, it was our way of life. My dad was my biggest influence and role model of a truly avid outdoorsman, and I am so thankful for him and the wisdom he has brought upon me. We still enjoy hunting together and I still find myself learning something new from him every time.
In middle school, I discovered my passion for waterfowl hunting. At this time, we had just moved to Wisconsin, right off of the Mississippi. I asked my neighbor for permission on his pond to hunt ducks. I would wake up early every morning and drive my little dirt bike to his place with my small collection of decoys. I had a single reed call that I had practiced blowing. That’s where I shot my first duck. I was hooked. Over the next few years, I made a nice collection of decoys, bought a mud boat, and had the whole set up. I worked at McDonald’s before I could even drive to help pay for my arsenal of decoys. My friends and I would hunt the Mississippi, local ponds, and fields. Through college, my passion grew and I made a lot of new friends in waterfowl hunting who I learned a lot from. We would hunt in bigger groups in the fields spanning across western Wisconsin. These are some of my favorite memories in college: snowy mornings in the field, cracking jokes with friends, and killing birds. One of my favorite things about these hunts was bringing out new people and watching them have a blast. We always try to include everyone on the hunt, whether that’s calling birds, throwing out a few clucks, flagging, or video taping. I love showing people what this sport’s all about. In college, I wanted to take my calling to a new level. I started to practice calling regularly and decided to start competition calling. Recently I have purchased an enclosed trailer and large amount of decoys. I wanted to start guiding because I love waterfowl hunting and I want to share the fun with new people. I enjoy talking and learning from others. Come join me and let’s have a great time enjoying the outdoors.

I grew up in Western Wisconsin, doing just about everything outdoors: hunting, fishing, hiking, trail running, you name it. I met Chance while attending UW-River Falls, where he introduced me to waterfowl hunting. Since we met, we’ve hunted and fished all across the United States together. We love sharing this passion not only with each other, but with all of our friends (new and old) that we’ve had the pleasure of meeting over the years.
We started Wadsworth Waterfowl Co. in the fall of 2021 with three principles in mind: faith, friendship, and a passion for the outdoors. As the world keeps changing around us and life brings its challenges, hunting has been a sanctuary for both Chance and I. We want to provide our guests with a chance to escape the ordinary and find enjoyment in what the outdoors has to offer. We are passionate about conservation and practicing measures that will benefit the future decades of waterfowl hunting. One of my favorite parts of hunting is introducing new people to the sport. Nothing is more exciting than watching someone get hooked!
